Cancer survivor shares her story

Out there . . . Greenwich resident and GHS grad Julia Chiappetta is
featured in the October issue of Vogue magazine.
Julia has published her notes in the reference book, "Breast Cancer - the
notebook," available on her Web site at www.breastcancerthenotebook.
com. She will sign copies of her book Thursday evening at
Trezure Art Gallery and Boutique on Mill Street in Greenwich. For more

Scene . . . Greenwich resident and fashion guru Tommy Hilfiger was seen
having dinner with friends Sunday night at Luca's Steak House in
Greenwich.
Scene . . . Actress Uma Thurman was seen this week having dinner at
Telluride Restaurant in Stamford. Thurman has been filming "In Bloom"
throughout the area. She is currently working in Stamford and has
wrapped up filming in Norwalk and Greenwich. Shooting will also take place
in Darien and New Canaan.
Scene . . . Stamford resident Marvin Minkler was seen "marking out" with
legendary former WWE wrestler "Rowdy" Roddy Piper and former New
York Ranger Mike Backman at the Grand Bar and Restaurant in downtown
Stamford.
Out there .. . The Drawing Room tea room and boutique on Suburban
Avenue in the Cos Cob section of Greenwich will celebrate the work of
John Ferris Robben from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Thursday. In addition to Robben's
newest paintings, the event will emphasize the artist's creative flair for

Scene . . . Greenwich resident and TV personality Judge Judy Scheindlin,
served as judge and announcer at Adopt-A-Dog's "Puttin' on the Dog"
last Sunday at Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich.
Out there . . . Lady Windridge, a 170-foot luxury yacht, was the scene
last Thursday night in Stamford of a party for 200 tenants of the South
End corporate park. The event celebrated Harbor Square's 20th
anniversary, courtesy of developer and owner Frank Mercede & Sons.
Among those in attendance were Nick and Frank Mercede; Anthony Ceci
of RSM McGladrey Inc.; Judge William Strada; Ted Lane of Antares Group,
Inc.; and Bishop Basil Losten and Monsignor Leon Mosko of the Ukrainian
Catholic Eparchy of Stamford.
Out there . . . More than 300 guests turned out Thursday evening at the
Hyatt Regency Greenwich for the Bartlett Arboretum's 40th anniversary
gala co-chaired by Stamford resident Karen Wilder, wife of actor Gene
Wilder, and Kate Bartlett. Actor and Weston resident and actor Charles
Grodin served as master of ceremonies while Stamford resident and WNBC
news reporter Joe Avellar led the live auction.
Scene . . . Actress and Westport resident Linda Fiorentino, who starred in
movies such as "The Last Seduction" and "Men in Black," was seen
hanging out last weekend by Compo Beach in Westport.
Out there . . . ABC's "Eyewitness News" meteorologist Bill Evans, who
lives in Greenwich, is the special guest this week on "Keeping the Rumor
of God Alive" hosted by the Rev. Kenneth Kieffer, pastor of the First
United Methodist Church of Greenwich. The radio shows airs tomorrow at
8:45 a.m. on WGCH radio, 1490 AM.
