Did you know that 1,300 men will be diagnosed with Breast Cancer in the USA this year?
Breast Cancer Survivors Hundreds of Miles Apart Share Dream to Provide Financial Assistance to Women and Men in Treatment

(PRWEB) October 16, 2006 -- Being Julia with a heart for those less fortunate than herself, led breast cancer survivor and author, Julia Chiappetta to write and share years of research in Breast Cancer-the notebook; a foundation of facts at the fingertips of the newly diagnosed or those wanting to take a preventative approach. Dr. Merrick I Ross M. D. F.A.C.S, Professor of Surgical Oncology, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, one of the top doctors in the world treating breast cancer, has endorsed the book by writing the introduction. Julia's personal healing experience is also unique in that she chose food and nutrients as her plan of care. Julia was interviewed for an article in Vogue's October issue -- Toxic Overload...the links to breast cancer.

Being Molly MacDonald, whose family suffered financially while she was in treatment and recovery led to a vision to provide short-term financial assistance to breast cancer patients via the world's largest marketplace, EBay, where she has bared her bust, My Winged Victory, to drive awareness and raise seed money for her cause The Pink Fund.

Little did these two sister survivors know that just in time for Breast Cancer Awareness Month, their dreams were about to collide, one with her book, the other with her bust, to drive awareness, raise funds and therefore help breast cancer patients and their families focus on healing and not short-term financial crises that could literally drive them into bankruptcy.

MacDonald learned of Chiappetta through an email she received from another breast cancer survivor and author, Susan Sorensen, Praying through Cancer. Sorensen wrote: "I think you two are of the same mind. You might want to contact her." Sorensen had heard of Chiappetta from one of the contributors to her book, Pat Palau whom had sent an email that same month through her husbands organization, Luis Palau Ministry which Julia supports.

MacDonald immediately emailed Chiappetta. She returned with her phone number. The two began a conversation. Today they are joining the forces of with the book and bust.

There is a large circle of Breast Cancer Foundations, Associations, and events that promote early detection through education. Whilst that is part of the solution, in the middle of that circle are men, women and families who need help to pay their mortgage, the utility bill or child-care. Some women lose their husbands, others lose their jobs and many are so sick they can not care for their children. Real people are crying out and need help right now...today! Together Julia and Molly would like to reach those in need being guided by love and the single most powerful of medicines.....encouragement.

"Today, over half the family bankruptcies filed every year in the US are directly related to medical expenses and a recent survey shows that 75 %of those are filed by people with health insurance, MacDonald learned. "With 46% of the national workforce women, 71.2% of those heads of households and one in eight of all women to receive a breast cancer diagnosis in her lifetime, the financial fallout is huge."

Knowing the power of two over one, Chiappetta and MacDonald hope and pray their new non-profit will provide in very practical ways for breast cancer patients and their families as well as giving them a hope and a future. Fund-raising events for 2007 are underway. Monies are expected to begin being distributed through the direct payment of The Pink Fund recipients bills in the second quarter of 2007.
